1965

1965 Nchalo sugar estate commences operations as the sugar corporation of Malawi (SUCOMA) under Lonhro in partnership with Malawi Government and Common Wealth Development Corporation

1975

Planting of cane and building of canals commence in Dwangwa

1979

Dwangwa factory operations commence

1997

SUCOMA converted into public company

2004

Name officially changed to Illovo Sugar (Malawi) Limited

2016

Nchalo estate celebrates 50 years in operations

2017
